Complex Translations Engineer August 2001 to May 2003
Ionex Communications - Addison, Texas
· Responsible for install and maintenance of Local call routing for 74 Local Dialing Plans in 30 cities.
· Worked with Ionex Planning, Engineering, Provisioning as well as Lucent to turn up 2 Lucent 5ESS and 3 Lucent DRM switch systems. Produced documentation based on Ionex planned service areas and provisioning data to give Lucent information to pre-build the translations into 4 of these 5 switches.
· Added 8 new routing schemes for service areas not built by Lucent.
· Built and maintained intranet web pages powered by databases which aided Customer Line Translations in the install of customers onto the Ionex network.
· Developed Traffic Engineering process that parsed traffic reports into a database for our Traffic Engineer to use. Supervised a programmer to build a dedicated Traffic Server for this purpose.
· Performed translations to “close” the Ionex Long Distance network to mitigate fraud.
· Managed process of moving existing FGD trunk groups from an existing 5ESS LDP to a new 5ESS LDP.
· Performed lineside and network translations for several NPA Splits on the Long Distance and Local side of our switches.
Translations Engineer October 1995 to August 2001

· Key player on a project to convert 100,000+ Interim Local Number Portability customers to true Local Number Portability in three different types of switches. Received the Summit Club award for this effort.
· Performed lineside translations for NPA splits in four different switch types.
· Responsible as the translations “point of contact” to IT personnel to implement new systems and processes as well as helped to streamline existing systems and processes.
· Defined procedures for call routing and trained new employees on them.
· Member of new switch implementation group. This assignment included building all trunking and routing, all call flows, office engineering, testing, and finally migration of existing customers to the new switches. Defined and automated procedures and tasks for future switch migrations.
· Represented the translations department in mergers with other companies. This task included planning and implementing processes to support acquired personnel and switching equipment as well as transitioning new personnel and equipment into existing procedures and platforms.
· Initially responsible for Least Cost Routing of all International and Domestic Long Distance traffic over the MFS network, off-net, and terminating on FGD trunks. In accomplishing these tasks, dealt with all aspects of network call flow, from Network planning down to the different types of trunk and line signaling. Involved with the installs of new network trunks, new customer trunks, and new line customers as well as troubleshooting customer and network problems.
